Thus I would like to ask whether VM had some limitations that cap specific type of resources intensive application's CPU usage to prevent it from crashing? If this is not the case, please tell me the genuine reason. Moreover, the CPU usage of VM seemed never go over 50% even there is more VPN users, but for other applications, it is possible for CPU to went over 40-50%. In comparison, I also run VPN server at my home using home network and my new laptop, it ran well even when CPU is nearly 100%. When I check the CPU usage, I found that the CPU usage is only about 40%, which was not high. The server is in India, while I am in hong kong, the expected latency is about 100ms, however sometimes the ping can went to 2000ms(note that my home network and my PC is totally normal). However, when I test the performance of the server using my computer, I found the latency extremely high, here is the transcript of the traceroute to 9.9.9.9 using my computer which connected to the VPN in the VMħ 1453 ms 722 ms 2331 ms .msn.net Ĩ 1145 ms 146 ms 648 ms .msn.net ĩ 495 ms 274 ms 185 ms .msn.net ġ0 215 ms 206 ms 342 ms .msn.net ġ2 1646 ms 849 ms 771 ms I run a VPN server on the azure cloud VM, the server is opened for public use with about 100 users.
